HAL - cruise documents

How long before date of sail should one expect the cruise documents to arrive? What's been your experience? thanks, TMW

I have found it depends on the agent you use. I have had mine 3 weeks ahead and some just a week ahead.

Do not know about HAL, but make sure there actually are documents. I was surprised to see that on Princess cruise last month everything was on-line - no papers arrived.

From what I understand in addition to downloading boarding pass, HAL still sends out documents.

We received ours 6 weeks before our Alaska cruise. I was very surprised!
Our TA recommended we do the on-line check in. Our boarding passes are printed and we are set to GO!!!

We go on our HAL cruise on 22nd August and I received our documents last Tuesday, 8th July. They came from company I booked through.

The documents aren't just the boarding pass which you can get on line if you fill out the form, but the luggage tags, booklets regarding cruising info etc. that you need ahead of time.

Gail, I am sure we received something in mail for our Princess cruise, don't remember what it was, but sure we got those sticky luggage strips. In addition to e-mails.

I just heard from our agent this morning that they are going to courier our documents the first week of August which puts that 5 weeks prior to the cruise.
