Grand Cayman Shore Excursion on RCCL
Has anyone done a RCCL Shore excursion that they would recommend? None are jumping out at me. I know most people on this board prefer their own excursion (cheaper), but for anyone who's taking a RCCL one what can you recomend? We are not into Scuba diving.
If we don't take a tour, can you take a cab to "hell" and if so how much $? thought it would be fun to send a postcard from there. Thanks in advance for your tips!

Grand Cayman is a great place but not too much to do. Took the turtle farm/Hell tour 2 yrs ago and thought it was a waste of time. Going back this March and will most likely just catch a cab to 7 mile beach and relax. The downtown area is nice to walk around and shop but that won't take more than an hour or two.

We also took the Turtle Farm/Hell tour on our RCCL and we enjoyed it especially the turtle farm. Also included was a tour of Georgetown and a stop at 7 mile beach. Table mates did the Stingray City and loved it. Great even for non-snorkelers as you are on a shallow sandbar. 7 mile beach is easily accessible by taxi and it is awesome. Public beach and had no one on it when we were there. Enjoy!

Hi Jane,

I have been to the Turtle Farm 3 times. I though Hell was nice to see once. You will find the cabs to be very expensive in the Caymans.

Comparing the difference I found the taxi price to be the same as the ship's tour price for three. More than three the price for the taxi would be better.

Paul

My daughter and I took the Atlantis Submarine excursion when we were there in May 2002. I enjoyed it and my daughter said it was the highlight of the trip. We also did the trip to Hell, the turtle farm and 7-mile beach. The cancellation on the postcards from Hell were smudged. We decided next time we go we'll just do 7-mile beach.
Did the Cockatoo catamaran last week and it was nice.

I have stopped at the Cayman Islands twice, once with Carnival and once with Princess and loved swimming with the stingrays. Can be frightening if you have kids. ~ Have had friends go to "hell" and it was a big disappointment, even the string ray operator discouraged it. ~ Shopping is wonderful and even felt comfortable walking around alone. (There is a drug store within walking distance if you need any necessities. Saw cruise personal shopping both times I was there. Just ask any local where it is.) Have fun!!

If you are into sea life at all, go on the StingRay City trip. Water is waste deep and the rays swim right up to you, bump into you, flap their wings on you. It is amazing. We had snorkel gear, but never used it because the water is so clear.

Stingray City was one of my favorite excursions EVER!
