Glacier Trek vs. Glacier + Dog sledding?

Our cruise will be in Juneau from 1pm to 10pm on one of the days. There's SO much to do in Juneau and we are having trouble deciding what to choose. We are torn between:

Option 1: Mendenhall Glacier Trek to get an up-close look into/under the glacier. The photos look amazing!

Option 2: Take a bus to visit Mendenhall Glacier and do one of the short trails on our own AND Dog Sledding (without the helicopter)

We love dogs and it's too bad that we have to choose. It seems that Juneau is the only stop that will give us the option to visit a dog mushing camp (the other tops are Sitka, Ketchikan, Victoria). We'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks!

If you love dogs, you may not want to go dog sledding ... :(

Hmm, I know what you mean. They seem to be excited but at the end of the day, sledding is really their job and they are not choosing to do it. I hear ya.

Well, we decided to do the 7.5 hour glacier trek instead and we will forgo the dog sledding/musher's camp tour. Reason being the glacier trek is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else but Alaska! Yes, we love dogs but we have a lovely puppy at home and I think the dog sledding tour was our way to get our "dog fix" while we are away from our puppy LOL.
