Garfield:

Celebrity Cruise Lines has started tours this summer, but she uses ships not small boats.

It is getting good reviews though.

Try cruisecritic.com for extensive review and comments under the Celebrity forum if you are interested.

we went with Inca Floats a long while back. It as great. Very small boats. We liked that.

Try looking in the "Ecuador" board for a lot of posts on boats in the Galapagos.

There's a company in Dallas, Metropolitan Touring, that utilizes small ships: Santa Cruz- 90 passengers, and Isabella II - 40 passengers.

Lindblad Expeditions is a reliable choice, and so is A&K. I don't know how small you want to go, but Mountain Travel-Sobek uses some ships that carry only 20 passengers. Good luck!

We did a trip some years ago on the Isabella II.It was a ship with about 40 cabins. I think it was a 7 day trip. I will say it had the most experienced crew and nature guides. The passangers were very friendly. The food was very good as well. I know that one of the large cruise lines does have a smaller ship doing that trip. I personally would look into a much smaller ship, as we were on. They can get closer to the islands.
Good luck

I did forget to mention the most important thing. The time of year you take the cruise. I think it was Feb. when we went. You want to see as many animals as you can.

I was also on the Isabella 2 about 10 months ago.
It was a great yacht and like you say the crew and guides were just great as was the food.

I do not know how much closer the "smaller" yachts can get to some of the Islands.
I think you would still have to use the Panga boats for some of the distance.

I was very very satisfied with the Isabella 2 ,the room ,the beds and the bathroom was a good as you would get on a cruise ship, only in a bit of a smaller room.

The week before I arrived on the Isabella 2 , the Hollywood star Morgan Freedman and his daughter were on the yacht !!!.

Guess he has good taste also.
I got a good deal going on the Isabella 2 that is how I wound up on this Yacht.

Iwould highly recommend contacting Martin Slater at Sangay Tours .com or at www.guide2galapagos.com

He is out of Quito and knows all the yachts, the tours, the good deals etc.
He and his brother Robin operate Sangay Tours.

Tell him Percy told you to contact him.
We stay in touch via e-mail.

He just sent me an e mail about 3 weeks ago.
I cannot say enough about how well he planned my trip to Quito and the Galapagos.
