Ft. Lauderdale Hotels

What is a good pre-cruise hotel in Ft. Lauderdale? Is Priceline or Hotwire better? Thanks.

Do a search on the web for:
Fort Lauderdale hotels, then call the hotels directly to get them to match the rates you find.

For chains, the Sheraton, Holiday Inn and Howard Johnson are all right on the beach boardwalk in Fort Lauderdale beach.
It beautiful and WARM this time of the year there.
Take the Intracoastal waterway tour (Millionaire's row) and browse the shops/galleries at Las Olas. There are cool cafes and restaurants there as well.
There are free shuttles that take tourists around.

I read they are building the W hotel, St Regis resort and other upscale sites on the beach. Also read that Trump is eyeing some beachfront property... yep, Ft Lauderdale is moving on up!

I was hoping to get the Marriott Hotel and Marina so I bid $65 downtown, 3 star and I got it. I probably could have gotton it for less but we are going school vacation and it was a deal for me. The best rate I could find other wise was $209 plus tax.

Which one did you get the Marriott on, Dawn? Priceline or Hotwire? Talked to someone on the phone and they suggested the hotel (downtown) you mentioned you are staying in. Let me know how it is after you return.
Thanks, Mary Anne

Hi Mary Ann, I got it from Priceline. We are going in April.

Look at this comfort inn jparcell.
It has free shuttle from the airport and to the cruiseport, and a free hot breakfast in the am.
Comfort Inn Airport/Cruise Port S
2520 Stirling Rd. , Hollywood, FL, US, 33020-1122
Phone: (954) 922-1600
Plus the rates were in the 60 dollar range thru travelocity.

I live in Ft Lauderdale and love the Marriott Marina and it's on the Water Taxi route. Dawn got a great deal of $65 in April. Off-season I got it for $45 (November) for one night. Bid for Downtown FLL 3*. Before bidding, check out BiddingForTravel.com to find out what winning bids are showing up. The other hotel in this category is the Embassy Suites and they have Airport/Port shuttles.

Personally, I wouldn't want to stay at the Comfort Inn on Stirling Road. My friend has to stay there when he is here for training and doesn't like it. Pay a few extra bucks and stay in Ft Laud.

You can also bid Downtown 4* for the Renaissance; Beach 4* for the Hyatt Pier 66 (on the Water Taxi route); or Beach Resort for the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort (not on the Water Taxi route, but within walking distance.)
