friends of Bill W?
Okay, I've seen this on a couple different cruise lines navigators...what is the "Friends of Bill W." all about? Is this an actual person? They seem to meet daily, and what do they do?

Yes, there is a real Bill W. He founded Alcoholics Anonymous and they have since been called "friends of Bill W" to retain anonimity.

Was SO glad to see this question. When I first started cruising...about 25 years ago...I noticed "Friends of Bill W" meetings on my first three sailings. I was astounded that this Bill W. guy seemed to always pick the same sailing I did! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who didn't know what the heck it meant!
