First Time Cruising.....

Hi My husband and I are going on the Carnival Conquest Fun Ship for 7 days. This will be our first cruise and we have no idea of what to expect. We are from the UK but live and work in Texas, I am worried it will be a bit like a holiday camp on water with loads of children running around. Can anyone give us an idea of what its like on a cruise. Thanks

We cruised Conquest twice with teenage boys, including one time during Thanksgiving week, and everybody had great time. The number of kids depends on whether it is a school holiday time. But on a large ship like that you can always find quiet space. Don't miss high sea tea times. It is in a beautiful room, with classic music trio, great selection of teas (English one, Earl, was my favored)and snacks.

when are you going?

We seldon see many children on board because of their children's program. One night on a cruise they came and sang in the dining room. I was amazed at how many kids there were as had no idea there were that many on board. And you can always find a quiet spot! If school is not on vacation, you won't see as many kids as when it is. Don't worry, know you'll have a GREAT time and get hooked on cruising!

We leave Galveston on Sun 18th Nov so we are away for Thanksgiving. We will be calling at Montego bay, Grand Cayman and then Cozumel. We are really looking forward to, just unsure what to expect but then I guess thats the fun of it all. My husband has always wanted to cruise so we thought why not, you never know until you tried it. I am told that they have an adult only pool is this true?

Well, there a pool in the very aft behind the 24-hours pizzeria called for adults only, but nobody reinforced it.

Even if this cruise turns out to be less than you expected..don't give up on cruising. Change companies. We LOVE Oceania...small ships (800 passengersr), no kids, great food and interesting ports of call.
