Favourite thing to do in Barcelona

Hi Everyone!

I've got a question for you all:

When cruising, what is your favourite thing to see and do in Barcelona and why do you like it so much?

I'm thinking of writing a blog post about what people like to do, but thought I'd ask you all what you like to do in one of Europe's most popular cities.

Just to start off, I love to walk Las Ramblas and see the living statues, the kiosks and then go into the market checking out the booths picking up some delicaties for our room or to take on the ship.. The architecture along Las Ramblas is fascinating, especially the building with the umbrellas.

The Gaudi sites entranced us.

I like roaming around the fresh food market at Las Ramblas - sampling the different fruits, cheeses, and cured meats and, of course, stopping for a mouth watering cooked to order fresh seafood lunch at one of the kiosks.

We enjoyed staying in the Ramblas while in Barcelona. It's fun and to say its for tourists only is like saying that Michigan Ave. in Chicago is for tourists only. Not so. Many enjoy it inc. locals.

Anyway the OP is a tourist and mosy find the Ramblas a lot of fun and as its recommended by virtually every travel website, blog, mags, books etc. there must be a reason for it.

We all have our opinions. Some may prefer the Rambals, others not so.

When we have time enough we enjoy Las Ramblas, the Gaudi cathedral, and taking a half day trip to Montserrat. I've been to Montserrat twice, and would love to go again.
