Family Cruise Advice

I'm interested in destinations, lines, advice, and bargains regarding cruising with children and teenagers. Thanks!

Salette, We traveled on Carnival with our two year old three years ago. At that time, Carnival was the only line that took kids at that age. While the kids room and staff were fine, the rest of the cruise was pretty bad, especially compared to Princess or RCCL. I understand more lines are offering kids stuff. I hope so. That two year old is now 5, with a 3 year old sister and a new baby on the way. If you want info on that Carnival cruise I mentioned, please send me a note. Also, I'd love to hear anything you find out. Good Luck

What didn't you like about the Carnival cruise? Have you heard anything about the Big Red Boat for families?
I just finished researching this for my family. Try the following internet sites: Family Fun Magazine, QuinWell Travel, and the Mining Company Guide to Travel with Kids. Follow the appropriate links to "cruise travel with kids;" there's plenty of information. Also try the site www.cruiseopinion.com--lots of respondants have cruised with their kids.
STAY AWAY FROM CARNIVAL CRUISES WITH KIDS

I just recently came back from a trip aboard Carnival Triumph
The child care for 9+ is a joke. When a problem arose on the ship ,
getting any help finding my son who went missing from their care for
over an hour was any parents NIGHTMARE - there was no help
Trying to talk to their Corp HQ in Miami was a JOKE - - I might as
well have talked to the TOADS in my garden.
THEY NEED A SERIOUS ATTITUDE OVERHAUL
TAKE YOUR KIDS SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU CAN BE SURE OF THE SAME LEVEL OF
CARE YOU WOULD GIVE

DON'T EXPECT ANY ACTION ON ANY PROBLEMS YOU MIGHT HAVE IF YOU
ULTIMATELY DECIDE TO GO ON CARNIVAL

THIS IS NOT SOUR GRAPES - - ALL THE AMENTIES WERE FINE - - - THEY
SHOWED AN UTTER DISREGARD FOR ASSISTING IN THIS CHILD SAFETY MATTER
WHILE ON BOARD THE SHIP AND SINCE.
Hello, please note...everyone has good and bad. been on many cruises and have had very good and very bad. Only thing is that the very bad wasn't really that bad at all. We just got back from doing the Norway (Norwegian) and had a great experience. Their kid programs were second to none. We spent the first day checking out how they handled the kids (discreetly of course) Our kids had the best week they ever had and they loved their leaders. Our son, who is 13, spent the first couple days home resting cause he kept so busy. (Most nights he would get in by midnight) And get up early the next day just so he didn't miss anything. Anyway, this is just our opinion. Everyone has one. Do a lot of research. We also thought RCCL was a nice one also. Wish you luck in finding the right one for you and your family. Have a great trip.
