Excursions of the Ryndam

Jump to last reply

Can you give me any ideas about excursions from Rio to San Diego on the Ryndam? Good ones, bad ones. Ones worth the money, ones not worth the money. Thanks

We did Rio to Valparaiso via Antarctica last month so have a bit of info. In Rio we did our own. May be too late for you but I would really recommend Iguassu and doing it independently (much less expensive) and spending time on the Argentine side, at least one full day.

Montevideo we did the city by ourselves. The one report I had about the Colonia tour wasn't very positive which surprised me as it sounded really good.
Buenos Aires we did the City Tour which was a good overview and the Pampas BBQ. Lots to do their and not enough time on the tour but hopefully u can go back which we did. Pampas BBQ was good although expensive.
Don't think u will do the Falklands.
I think most of the Ushuaia tours are good. Too bad we didn't have more time. The Catamaran people seemed to see lots of wildlife. We did the trek which was good.
Punta Arenas we did the Penquins. U may be there too late to make that worthwhile. U should check. It was excellent in January.
Puerto Montt. We did Fruitiller which was fine but too rushed. The people that I spoke to that did the Falls really enjoyed it so it seemed to be worth the extra money. The craft market there was great for woolens etc.
We did our own in Valparaiso, Vina and Santiago.

Hope this helps. Contact me through email if I can help more. I can say that you will have a good time. The experience on the Ryndam that we had was exceptional..you are really missing something not being on the Antartic one including the storm we had!! ColsProbawN Monte Gneti
