Ever heard of Cruiseone.com?

Has anyone ever heard of Cruiseone.com?
They are a CLIA agency located all over the country. The people that work for cruiseone.com actually work out of their home and book cruises.
I was not having any luck with my local travel agent, so I thought I would try cruiseone.com.
Any insight would be appreciated,
thanks.

CLIA membership means little, you can get a CLIA membership for a few hundred dollars.

It sounds like a bunch of agents working out of their homes who paid this website to give them a listing. Why would they be any better than a local agent?

Vic,
thanks for the reply
I don't know why they would be better, only because the website said they buy in bulk so they get cruise prices cheaper than local agents. I like to do my home work so to speak. I used to work for corporate travel agencies, so I used to book cruises and get travel agent discounts myself, but I have changed careers, so I am now looking for a travel agent. I want to make sure I deal with someone good.

I have no idea how you find a good travel agent, but I suggest that the internet has completely revolutionized buying travel.

You can do your own research by visiting:

www.cruisecritics.com
www.cruisemates.com
and Fodors. This site has some really good information, vast numbers of people who have actually been on various cruise ships. You can learn more on the web than any travel agent can tell you.

Once you zero in on the destinations and ships you're interested in, go to the big web agencies like Travelocity. By a few clicks you can determine exactly what cabins are available and exact prices. Then shop the big brokers like cruise.com. Their prices are cheap because they book blocks of cabins on speculation, make top commissions because of their volume and pass on much of the savings to you. The cruise brokers are generally in Florida. The competition is intense so the prices are great.

My family just booked a cruise from [email protected]. He was great, and I think may the the type of thing you are talking about at Cruise One-an agent working from home. First I contacted a local travel agent who suggested I do my homework on the internet, then she'd book it for me (then why did she deserve a commission?) Then I contacted a number of the internet cruise providers (travelocity, icruise, etc). Stan not only had the best prices for the Alaska cruises I was interested in, he answered all my questions promptly and put up with my endless questions on cabins cheerfully. He just kept checking w/Celebrity until the cabins I wanted became available (new ones become available all the time, as people change their minds about what they want). Anyway, this was a really good experience and yours may be,too. You just need a good person, wherever they are. Be sure your price quote very specifically includes port charges and taxes.
