Europe River Cruise
We are deciding to go on a Europe river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam in June 2012,
( 2 couples in our early 60's) but I have had mixed comments on whether Avalon or AmaWaterways ships are better. The 15day cruise includes the shore excursions, and I would appreciate comments from anyone who has been on either ships. Service, food and is it worth the money? Thanks Pachet... |

cautionary tale for you just a heads up Avalon my fav of your 2 cruisecritic.com will have detailed reviews on the ships... No line will be able to do anything about water levels lots are having to bus around these days so be prepared... Happy Travels, |
Personally better values for me with
affordabletours.com Tauck or Globus for tours or self guide to save a tonne... AARP.org has great discounts sometimes through Expedia for me. Also priceline.com vacationstogo.com |
Well, that was the usual personal commercial. We just did a river trip with Uniworld and really enjoyed, thought the rive cruise experience was a great value and a relaxing, different travel experience. We were trying to decide between Viking, Uniworld and AMA; chose Uniworld since the dates were best for us. I would travel with them again.

I have to second the motion for Uniworld
I just did a River Cruise with them from Bucharest to Vienna... then took the train from Vienna to Prague. About Uniworld: The food was good The room and service was great. The Riverboat was very nice We had quit a bit of local entertainment in many places. For example, when in Croatia, we had Croatian Dancers etc. |
