early dinner with all day excursions?

We are planning to take advantage of a lot of all day excursions? We would rather have the early dinner and not go to bed on a heavy dinner from later seating. One person on the forum said that they did not get back until 6:00. Do the excursions go that long? The book says between 5-8 hours, and the excursions start between 7:30 and 8:00 am. We assume that we will be back on ship by 5:00. We would like to hear from you!

We have eaten at the early seatings on two cruises (Alaska & Carribean) and have had no problems being back on ship for the early seating.

I can't remember the exact times we returned from excursions on our Panama trip - one may have been a little late but we didn't miss supper and I still preferred the earlier seating.

Hi Karen, It all depends on you, really. We don't like being rushed to get ready for dinner, we like to sit and maybe have a drink and catch our breath. When we are home we eat around 6pm, but onboard we perfer the late. Too each his/her own.
Sandy

With all day tours, some people feel rushed especially on formal night.

There are also times when a tour does not come back as scheduled. It cases like this, you could go to the alternative restaurant.

Even though we normally eat between 5 and 6, on cruises we prefer the late sitting. Different strokes for different folks.
