I was wondering the same thing. We had thought about doing the same thing. Thanks

We did this on our honeymoon 2 years ago and it was excellent. Make sure that you sign up for the group that actually gets to swim with the dolphins. You get to touch them, hug them, dance with them, and at the end they push your feet & fly you through the air (no, I'm not kidding). It was expensive (about $120 per person) but it was well worth it. Several people from our hotel did the cheaper excursion where you just get to go in the water up to your kneecaps and pet the dolphins and they were very disappointed. Definitely pay the extra $, it's really an experience of a lifetime!

Lydia: there is a second type of dolphin encounter that we did because we had non swimmers. this one takes you to a small lagoon. there is a square floating dock with a waist deep platform running across it. 8 people stand back to back in the water and the trainer brings the doplhins between you. its not as good as swimming with them but its only about 45.00 pp. between groups the dolphins do some tricks. keep a towel around your neck to cover your camcorder with when they come around to splash you. good experieence for all ages(we had from 15-73). this was on the fantasy & big red boat.
Did this on Margarita Island, Venazula and it was neat! We had a choice of being pushed by our feet or holding on to them while they swam around, I choose the later. Sounds like mine was alot less expensive tho - $65.00.

It is a wonderful experience for the young and old.
We took our granddaughter last year (5 years) on the dolphin encounter in Nassau. She had a wonderful time. You don't need top be a good swimmer if you just want to touch the dolphins, you stand on a platform and the dolphins come to you. It was in the mid 60 $ range pp, but it was well worth the price. Have a great time. Sue
