Do you cruise by price or destination?

We are new to cruising, been on 2 since last July. First was W. Caribbean, this time E. Caribbean.

We have the opportunity to go again in December, but it would be a similar itinterary to our last, with the exception of 1 island where we have never been. The price is great, & it's a week that we normally go away to celebrate our wedding ann'y.

So the question is - do we book & repeat the (almost) same itinerary since the price & timing are perfect? We probably won't get off the ship except for the 1 day in Cozumel.

Any thoughts? Thank you.

Hey, why not?
If it is ship you enjoy....go for it!

After visiting the islands many times, I also sometimes just stay on board....very relaxing!

Enjoy yourself! :-)

I choose by ship first and itinerary second. I often stay aboard in ports I do not care for (have been on over 100 cruises so am burnt out on many of them!)

Early December is a great value for cruising with the added bonus of somewhat uncrowded ships and fewer kids, both of which enhance my personal enjoyment.

I'd say GO! We've visited nearly every island in the Caribbean and even if you've been there before, you did not see it all. Take another tour, visit a different beach, eat at a different place, visit another part of the island or...just stay on the ship and enjoy a wonderful day of cruise life.

Personally we always try to see something we haven't seen before. However if that is not available to you for the time in question then what the heck. Go for it. And happy aniversary. :-)

Thank you all for your comments.

We've actually decided to go to the Mexican Riviera, as we've never been there & it's the same line we like (HAL), same great price!

Sounds great! Bon voyage. :-)

Price rules, If it's a port that we're been to we'll stay onboard and let the good times roll. Where else can you be catered to in such great manner ?

# of passengers does it for me. Do not like the mega ships. Prefer smaller 300 - 700 passengers so the first thing I look at is how many people will I bump into!

For us it is a combination of Price/Destination/Ship. And we like early Dec. Just booked Star Princess for 12/2 at a great price. We used to book within the 90 day no cancellation window. The last two...Nor. Sun and upcoming Star Princess were booked well in advance and the value was the best that we have seen so we may continue like this.
