Distance from BCN airport to Pier

How far is it from BCN to the Royal Caribbean pier? We are a family of 5 (3 young kids) with at least 3 suitcases. What is the best way to reach the pier? Taxi, train? Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Best depends on whether that means cheapest or most convenient. We took a cab, and it was about 30 Euro for a 30 minute ride.

Our experience with taxis in Barcelona has always been positive, but they would not be the best way for the five of you to get to the cruise ship IMO.

I have never seen a taxi in Barcelona that could take more than 4, and at that, it would be cramped. Even if your children are relatively small, I think it unlikely that a driver would take more passengers than the taxi has seat belts for.

Royal Caribbean will be happy to arrange transportation for you, but that is going to be very costly. Because of all that, I think you would do well to have a car service ready to meet your flight. The cost should not be much greater, if at all, than two taxis. But, be certain that you can board your ship shortly after your plane arrives. I do not recall any comfortable waiting space at the pier.

Jeff, your point about boarding the ship right away is an excellent one. With 3 kids who will be out of whack from the time change, and a husband who will have worked the entire night before our 12 hour flight, it is well worth a few phone calls to see when exactly we can board. Thanks for your info!

We do use a service (Percy on the board know them) but are you talking three suitcases TOTAL? There are a few mini vans at the airport that you might be able to get that hold four anyhow. We ran into a problem a few years ago and the cruise line had a bus for $18.00 each..it was well worth it.. You could rent two mini van or a mini and a taxi.. This is one time it;s better to bite the bullet for convenience and comfort. If you need more info [email protected]
