Dinner seating and Carnival..
I strongly dislike the idea of sitting with other people every single night at dinner. I called expedia who in turn called the cruise line and was advised to request this once I get on the ship. Does anyone know any tricks to getting this arrangement?? Thanks.

What arrangement are you referring to? A round robin?

I'm not sure what type of table it is, they just said a small table for 4. Wondering how hard it is to get seating for just 2. We have the latest dinner sitting.

I thought you mean that you wanted to eat at a different table every night.
We just returned from a HAL cruise, where we had opted for a large table, late seating. We were 7, including the ship's doctor who joined us for several nights. It was a nice mix. I would be afraid of a table for 4. If you don't care for them, you could have some very stony silences. Why won't they confirm a table for 2 now? |
No idea, maybe I'll call the cruise line directly. I was thinking of making something up like that it's our honeymoon or something! :)

we have been on 9 Carnival cruises Last were Legend, 4'04 & New Years, 12'04 Then 11'05 & 3'06. Always had asigned seating with same passengers, same waiter every night. We HATE freestyle!! If you don't want to go to the dining room go to the buffet instead! We were always asigned a table when we got on board. We NEVER had a problpem with this. Once we changed tables (Legend, New Years Eve!)because we were the only people of two family tables, all from India who didn't always speak English!)
We prefer a table of 6 so will check with the Maitre'd when we board to see the size of our table. Last cruise we requested a change (great people but in their late 70's & 80's) and got a GREAT table of 8! So, if you're unhappy with your table, you can usualy always change! Just see the Maitre'd after you board, or after the 1st night! |
When we last took CCL I recall being able to request a table for 2. Good luck. Larry :-)
