Dining room options

I have a question about tables in dining rooms. We are a family of 5 scheduled on Voyager in March. Is smoking allowed in the dining rooms? Is there a non smoking area? I don't think I could actually even eat if someone was smoking at our table. Can you request a non smoking area? We were on Carnival Paradise during our last cruise and of course it being a non smoking ship I never even thought about it. Thanks in advance.

Most ships I've been on do not allow smoking in the dining room.
Hi Linda,

There is also no smoking in the main showroom. All lounges and on open decks have designated "smoking" areas. Note that you will indeed find passengers who cannot read.

Paul

Check the brochure or web site for your ship, but these days most ships are 100% non smoking in eating areas. Even the "bar" areas usually have large non smoking sections, and on deck the smoky and clean areas should be well signposted. Don't be shy about asking a crew member to speak to any other passenger who "didn't notice" the non smoking signs on deck or anywhere else.
On our summer cruise with P&O last year the only time we ever smelt smoke it came from the balcony of the next door cabin which was occupied by one of the special guest speakers - a medical practitioner and minor TV celebrity who was booked to do several lectures on how to look after your heart!
