Dining Ashore on NCL

Has anyone taken NCL up on their Dining Ashore program in Bermuda? It seems "too good to be true" that they would give you a $50 voucher for $10. Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Yes, we did last year..We took the lunch coupon when we went to the Dockyard and had a lovely lunch which included an iced coffee, my husband may have had a hamburger and french fries and I think I had a salad.. Another fried used the dinner coupon for a restaurant in St. George, the Carriage House and found that they went over the limit... They have a special menu for NCL I believe.. I thought it was a great idea.

Did they have a special menu at the Dockyard? Seems like that would be the catch - that you are limited in what you can order.

We used it last summer. We had mistakenly thought you could use it more than once - only one voucher per person. We ate in Hamilton (sorry, can't remember name or restaurant) and were given the "cruise menu" - very limited and while food was OK, not nearly as good as what we saw walking by to other tables. Staff made us feel like second-class citizens, told us 3 times that sodas were not included, and then told us to make sure we left a tip. Could have just been this place, though.

Gail.. the spot we went to in the Dockyard and it wasn't the Frog and Onion was very gracious and told us that the iced coffee was included and I knew you could only use it once..Our friends who used it for the Carriage House said they may not have had a special menu but went way over the allowance...but it was for supper.

FOOD in Bermuda is astronomically expensive.

You would probably use the entire $50 voucher for lunch..

We used the Dining Ashore voucher at The Dockyard. It was worth it, had nice sandwiches; however the drinks (iced tea) were not included and they charge for refills. We paid $13 for 2 ice teas and 1 refill.

We had wanted to go to the Frog and Onion, went to the first restaurant there...and I think the $5.00 voucher is worth $25.00...and the restaurant did include our iced coffee/
tea...maybe it was just the server.. and there was a menu with many things to choose from. As a matter of fact NCL sends you a list of restaurants (which I have from last year) with the menus. I do know my friends who used the Carriage House for dinner...went way over the limit, but said it was delicious..
