Curated cruise for senior

Greetings - my mentor is looking for a cruise, perhaps to New Zealand but not necessarily, to have a 'final' world travel experience. She's a vibrant 84 and would like high personal touch from booking flights and being met at airports/transfers, to discussing itinerary, to how she'll be attended to as someone who walks with a cane and needs rest occasionally. I realize this is a bit general, but would appreciate recommendations and/or thoughts on a more curated, customized cruise or experience. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and advice.

This is only one example. I am sure most cruise lines offer similar programs or cruise packages.

Look at Holland America. They really cater to Seniors.

Your friend may be just fine going solo, but it seems she is seeking quite a bit of help. No matter which cruise line or which itinerary, I think this person may need a friend or family member to research and help them choose.

TBH, IMHO, unless they have cruised a good bit already on their own, I strongly recommend a friend or family member also accompany them. While someone would come in an emergency, there is no one assigned to accompany the elderly person 24/7.

Several years ago, we took an elderly friend (age 81) on a cruise with us. We got help with a wheel chair in airports and at the cruise terminals. It was still not easy. Ship personnel can help with a lot of things, but some they can’t. For example, they can push a wheel chair on ramps at ports but not onto tenders, so you want an itinerary that actually docks at piers. Easy access transportation for tours should be available, etc. Give strong consideration for time of year. My friend got too hot on beaches and had to return to the ship sometimes. We had to find taxis, not ship’s excursion vans.

She will obviously need help with luggage, pre-cruise hotels, etc.

She must absolutely have the best travel/medical evacuation insurance.
