Cruising with an almost 20 yr. old

We are taking the Princess Grand on Jan. 4th with our almost 20 yr. old. We took her on the Dawn when she was 17 yrs. old and she loved it. There was a teen group up to 17 yrs. old but now we are wondering what there will be for her this time? On the Dawn we had assigned seating and lucked out with two other families each with a 17 yr. old. We were told by our agent that was pure luck. We are now trying to decide whether assigned seating or personal choice is the best? Any comments?

At almost 20 years of age, she is an adult and should be able to hold a conversation with other adults. If she isn't in college, she probably has a job. She can always make small talk about that or just talk about what she did that day or what she wants to do tomorrow.

Gotribe,
The concern was meeting people the same age, coversation is not a problem.

On a ship as large as the Grand Princess, she'll find plenty of people her own age to hang out with.

Don't worry about it--she'll have a wonderful time.

Hi daisyf-Maybe you can request to be seated with families similar. I know people that have made requests to be with the same age passengers as themselves, or at tables without children, with singles, etc.

Thanks Wednesday. I had the same thoughts but we are using a new TA and she said it would be plain luck we were seated with similiar ages. I also asked it we didn't like the assigned seating if we could change to Personal after having given it a try. She wasn't big on that.
