Cruising Solo and Open Seating
When I cruised with Holland America, breakfast and lunch in the dining room was open seating. They always placed me at a large table with other couples or singles. Traveling with Crystal was the opposit. At breakfast and lunch I asked to be with others, but they refused and put me alone at a small table. There were other singles also sitting alone even though they had asked for company. I would like to try some other cruise lines, but wonder what their seating policies are. Does anyone know about Princess,Celebrity, Cunard, Oceania,Seaborn, etc. Thanks for any info you might have.

On Royal Caribbean and Celebrity I was seated with others during open seating meals.

You can choose to sit with people on Princess - when you go to the dining room just indicate if you want a large table with people or a small table.

Radisson will seat you with others. By the time you hit the sand in port, you will have new friends to share the sea with.

Wow Mandy, how rude that they made you sit alone. I've never heard of a line doing this, especially if they also made others sit alone as well. Have other heard that Crystal does such a thing?

I'm just going to top this as I am recently widowed and thinking about a cruise. Crystal Cruises always seemed a wonderful choice but I'm having second thoughts based on this post. Anyone? LilMsFoodie, over here from the US board.

That's a shame that they didn't respect your request for dining with others. I've never heard of such rudeness!
Lilms, As for Crystal....I think there are better options for the $ (or less $ spent)...JMO. Crystal is NOT all inclusive, just in case you thought otherwise. |
