Cruisecompete.com

Had anyone done business with Cruisecompete.com where travel agents bid for your business. Are they legit and do they provide good service?

I have used them on my last 4 cruise bookings. No complaints yet. AND prices were not beat elsewhere.

Be aware some agencies charge fees for changes and/or cancellations above and beyond what the cruise line charges. This was important to me when I booked our cruise to Alaska....may not be of importance to everyone.

Do a text search, this agency has been discussed a lot. I have used them once for the best price and on another occasion I beat cruisecompete's lowest price through a travel agency that supplies bids on cruisecompte, though this company did not respond to my request for a quote. It was cruises-n-more.com.

Mandy:

The agents that bid on CruiseCompete tend to be very aggressive, internet-savvy agencies like Cruise Value Center, Cruises-N-More, and Cruise411. They all do high volumes of sales (which is why they tend to have the best prices) and that's tough to maintain if you don't give good service.

The site itself is very useful, as it essentially lets you shop around a wide range of agencies without have to call each one individually.

We just used them!

Got a great rate for Mar 2006, concierge class on Celebrity Constellation for the price of 2C balcony room!!!

There is a $35 cancellation fee p/p with the travel agent, not cruise compete.

I use them ALL THE TIME, but I have done all of my homework ahead of time, choosing the ship/dates/itinerary and possible cabins. So far we have been very pleased with their service. And yes, they are legit. But sometimes they will not accept 'coupons' issued by the cruise lines.

i have used them 4 times and 3 times i found cheaper prices elsewhere.

We have used cruisecompete several times without problem until we bought a cruise through ecruisestore.com

It appears that they often double charge credit cards under their name or Galaxy Travel / Cruises instead of getting the cruise line to charge.

We had a lot of hassle with ecruisestore.com and finally our credit card company sorted it out (months later).

I wonder how many people do not notice the double billing that goes on.

cruisecompete should not allow ecruisestore to provide quotes.
