CruiseCheap.com?

Has anybody used this website to book cruises? They have some good deals, but I want to make sure they are reputable. Any info would help as I am doing this as a last minute thing. Thank you.

We are taking our first cruise in July but had planned one for last year also. I am very hesitant about these so-called "discount" websites. In fact, we are booked on HAL through a large travel agency, who got us a 40% discount on our fare. I don't think we could have done any better on the internet, plus we are assured that this is not fly-by-night. We did contact cruise411 last year and when we spoke to them on the phone, we felt that they were reputable. Don't know anything about cruisecheap.

Good luck.

I've talked to CruiseCheap in the past. I think they've been around for a while and I can't remember ever hearing anything negative about them, so they're probably reputable (though I can't vouch for them first hand).

Before you book, though, I'd suggest that you try CruiseCompete.com. It's not an agency, rather it's a site where you pick a cruise then multiple agencies compete to offer you the best deal so you can compare prices.

As it's anonymous and doesn't cost anything to use, it's definitely worth a try to compare.

Check for ships leaving from Port Canaveral. Its not terribly far from Jax. Carnival goes out of here and so do a few other ships.
Word on Carnival. WE have been on LOTS of cruises including Carnival. After Nov.'03's cruise on the Imagination, My husband said he was NEVER going to go on Carnival again! Then in April 'o4, he found an 8 day on Carnival's Legend for $379!! He couldn't pass that up and didn't. The Legend was like none of the other 4 Carnival ships we'd been on. It was just great. In fact it was so enjoyable, we also went over New Year's. And, Bob Dickenson, the CEO & president of Carnval was on the ship with his family! If its a newer ship, it might surprise you! Chck with reviews on cruisecritic.com

I booked our cruise before last on them and didn't have any difficulties, although really no personal service. I just got off of my honeymoon cruise, I found the deal on an email that they sent me and then called a full service travel agent. She was able to get the exact same very discounted rate. As a matter of fact we compared several cruises without fail the AAA agent got the same rate as CruiseCheap.com, but I was able to have more control over where my stateroom was, etc. I was extremely suprised that she got the same rates. As a matter of fact she made sure that at the discounted rate we got the highest category room that you could get before the rate went up which actually upgraded us several categories.
However, let me reiterate I had no issues with Cruisecheap.com when I booked through them before.
