Cruise with three 17-18 yr old girls
My husband and I are taking my daughter and her 2 friends on a Western Caribbean cruise next March. Looking at Royal Caribbean, Carnival or Norwegian any thoughts on which line would have more to do for these three great young ladies??
It is the first time cruising for all of us so I need lots of help. Carnival seems to be geared for the younger crowd am I wrong?? For Carnival I was looking at the Valor and Liberty which starts sailing in Nov to the Caribbean.........Thanks |
Hey vittoria,
Guess what - we need you all on our Carnival Conquest cruise 12/18/05! My boys are 19 and 16. Are the young ladies out of schools that week? In case we miss you, yes, RC and Carnival large ships will be perfect for you. I have not sailed NCL and heard mixed opinions. In any rate, avoid small old ships. |
Thanks Spur for your reply. The girls are not off that week in Dec. it would of been interesting. What type of cabins are you usings for the boys? My husband and I are going for a balcony, the girls oceanview, will it be too crowded for three of them? I heard the Carnival has larger rooms than RC is this true?

Gosh, you want to spoil yourselves on a very first cruise. We still book the least expensive inside cabins for everybody and could care less about balcony or window. Do think the boys would have noticed a balcony in their cabin if they come back everyday at about 2 AM? Prefer to spend money in casino. Theoretically, Carnival cabins are larger than RC but you may not notice the difference. Just go by itinerary or price, whatever is more important for you. But why does it have to be Western Caribbean? I like Eastern more, islands and beaches are very beautiful.

If your daughter and friends are outgoing, they will have a great time. What a nice idea for her to bring friends with her.
If they are not outgoing, they will still likely have a great time, but a word of caution - we did NCL Boston-Bermuda cruise with our 2 teenagers (14 year old dtr and 18 year old son). Our son was too old for teen activities and too young for adult activities and is rather shy - so he spent his time sunning, reading, eand lots of eating. It also would have been relatively easy for him to be served alcohol. He had a good time, but sometimes older teens on a cruise are at an uncomfortable mid-age. |
