Cruise ship with clothing optional pool areas?

Wanting to travel Carib in May and would welcome any thoughts on cruises with clothing optional pools or areas. Thanks

Just about ALL of Carnival's on the VERY top deck---

Paul Therault Nov 30th, 2001 09:21 PM

Good heavens ..... clothing optional ........ negative ..... no .... nada.

Paul

Paul- have you ever walked to the VERY top deck near the smoke stacks- on Carnival it is almost consistently topless--NOT NUDE-but definitely topless. LOL-- I am serious.

Theresa Dec 2nd, 2001 03:19 AM

I have never gone up there but have seen the signs near the staircase that say "adults only, topless deck".

Sort of disappointed that Carnival would do this but they do do this - at least on the ship I was on - Fascination.

Paul you reputedly own half of Carnivale, could you get me a job as waiter on the upper level of one of your ships ??????? Please......

MJ Dec 2nd, 2001 04:26 AM

Carnival does it because their crew is largely European and I guarantee you that a lot of the people on that deck are crew. When Europeans are at a beach or pool, they take their clothes off!

Brenda Dec 2nd, 2001 05:14 AM

Come on! Let's don't start another of those rumors that many people on here take for absolute fact. Carnival has a well identified "top optional area" NOT a "clothing OPtional area" ! There is a difference.

Paul Therault Dec 3rd, 2001 10:43 PM

Absolutely Brenda. Topless only.
I believe most of the gals are the showgirls looking for the "no tan" lines and where the crew deck is not available since the passengers can look down on them.

For Jill: If you wish barenaked cruises you can search for the Naturalist Society on the Web. Some of the worldwide clubs do charter ships at times.

My apologies to Fr. McCabe. You must be a Benedictine. Certainly not a Jesuit. Right?

Paul

Wow, you can see the gals' boobies?!

Brenda Dec 4th, 2001 05:33 AM

I haven't actually been there but the clients that I have had visit this area all report that "unfortunately" they didn't see any showgirls but rather a few of the ones who really probably would look much better with tops on. That has been pretty much our experience on beaches where tops are optional also. Haven't been to Orient Beach either and i guess that is quite interesting

I'm going on a HAL ship this month and plan to be topless on the Carribean beaches. Would anyone go topless on HAL ships? Or any non-Carnival ships for that matter?

Roger Dec 4th, 2001 12:40 PM

Top deck on Carnival. Just wear sun glasses and act cool. Open seas, salt air and boobies. Just don't till your head back and forth like a dog and you won't be obvious.
jimbo Dec 4th, 2001 01:18 PM

yep, carnival has topless sunbathing on top decks. great idea. Rarely anyone up there. also signs block the entry way and signs ban cameras.

Paul Therault Dec 4th, 2001 08:49 PM

Other than Carnival, ships that sail the Caribbean do not have topless areas. European cruise lines that sail foreign ports have many topless sunbathers around the pool but do not expect playboy bunnies.

French cruise lines such as Paquet have the majority of topless women and men in thongs (just lovely).

Whatever tickles your fancy.

Paul

stilllookin' Dec 6th, 2001 06:56 PM

Paul-It's been about eight hours now and I'm still searching the Naturalist Site.
Haven't found any cruise info yet but I'm still lookin'.

Paul Therault Dec 6th, 2001 11:40 PM

Sorry, I just presumed you would find something on the site. I never went there.

Try contacting Windjammer Barefoot Cruises. They do charter their ships at times to nudist clubs. Just a thought.

Paul

Ron Dec 7th, 2001 03:20 PM

Stilllooking-Re/nude
Try naturists.com(drop the L)
Also, gonude.com--sunnyfun.com,--these were in Islands Mag.--Good luck, sunny sunning and don't be obvious when you look!

Dissadent Oct 25th, 2003 09:49 AM

Don't pay any attention to the Padre. He's just a little misguided. What could be more natural than sunning in your B-Day suite. If you want listings,go to the book store and pick up "Travel Naturally". You will find all the info you need.
