I guess icebergs are just as dangerous now as they were a hundred years ago.

It's not likely we will hit an iceburg, but seeing that ship on it's side gave me a twang in the gut. We will be on the Grand Princess Dec. 1. I'm not worried, well maybe about the pirates ;)

Who else is going on a cruise soon?

We did Antarctica January 2006 on Princess. The large cruise ships have no problems but the little ones like the one that is sinking get in much closer to the ice as they have zodiacs that take passengers right onto the ice. That particular line did not do well on the safety inspections so it sounds like there is going to be a law suit or two!!!

Looks like the rescue ship was the same one that picked up passengers after the March grounding of the Nordkapp.
