Cruise line opinions.

I just read in Conde Nast's Traveler where they ranked Celebrity above RCCL in their survey of large cruise lines. Opinions please as to how the 2 have compared in your experience. Actually I was surprised by this. I wonder if I should have been. Thank you, Larry

I agree with Conde Nast. Celebrity is a cut above. Royal Caribbean is an excellent cruise line. We've been to Europe on both and very much liked our experience on Royal Caribbean, but we liked Celebrity the best of the two.

In fact, we are going on Celebrity Galaxy next month. Anybody experienced the Galaxy? ((b))

Thanks Budman. As I learn more about cruises it seems to me Celeb. should be on our list.

I agree, Celebrity is a cut above RCCL.

Celebrity has better food. If you are active, then there is no way that Celebrity can compare with the ice rink, rollerblading, rockwall and the entire kids section.

If you are older and sedate, then maybe the active features of RCCL will not appeal to you.

Agree Celebrity is a notch above RCCL.

As much as I enjoy rollerblading and ice skating, they hold no appeal to me when I'm on a cruise.

We recommend Celebrity and Princess.

Celebrity is better than RCCL in food quality and overall service. That being said, RCCL isn'that much behind in food and service and certainly excels in "things to do while on board". I've cruised both before and will cruise both again in the future. I'll let price and ports determine which one wins out.

To Budman, you'll love the Galaxy. A nice classy ship that just seems to have gotten almost everything right.

Thanks RickT. We chose that ship and itinerary because of all the "at sea" days. ((b))

I also LOVE Celebrity- both for the great food, wonderful service, and NO announcements all day....

ALso their spa restaurant is hundreds of times better than their lunch buffet area.....

RCL only surpasses Celebrity in the entertainment dept....and then, only by a hair....
