Cruise from USA to England
 

First time for this forum, so please forgive me if I seem a bit out of my league. First, I have never been on a cruise, but am interested in a direct cruise from the Eastern USA, direct to England.

Are the days of yore long past when you had a choice of passenger ships other than QE2 or what is the latest Cunard ship? I am tired of the long plane flight from the West coast to London and was looking for a more relaxed means of travel. Thank you.

Only Cunard ships (Queen mary) gives the possibility to cruise to and from England.
Some other lines will sail to GB in spring (and the ship will cruise in Europe for the summer).Or back from Europe (not always GB) in fall to the USA.

Search cruise.com or Expedia for trans-atlantic cruises, you'll find several to choose from.

If you're looking for a round-trip, maybe 2 back-to-back cruises will work for you?

I am on a cruise in May from Ft. Lauderdale to Southampton (via Iceland and the British Isles) but in your case you'd have to fly to FL to begin with. The cruise ship I'm on is Regent Voyager.

Most of the transatlantic cruises are repositions & are going to Europe in the Spring & return late Fall. they are usually less exspensive .

Thank you for your replies. Guess I will check out freighters as I am not looking for anything other than basic transportation. I am retired and have the time. I would fly back home, just tired of being jet lagged going over.

Sail: a pleasant slow adjustment to new time
Jetlag: 1-2 weeks of misery

I'd take a cruise any time over being a somnambula at work after vacation!

But I'd rather be sleepwalking at work if this is my only choice :)

There are many cruise lines that have Trans Atlantic Cruises.

Trans Atlantic cruises usually have a large number of at sea days. So you have to not mind being on the ship for 4 - 6 days at a time. Think about Caribbean cruises, 7 day cruises at most have only two sea days and they are spaced out at the start and at the end of the trip usually. A lot of at sea days mean you want to relax, and really relax.
