We booked successfully with CC last year but we just got screwed by one of their agencies. Cruise adventure travel. We got an excellent quote on a European cruise, in writing, we called right away to book it. They refused to honor the price, saying it was a mistake. Even though we had the quote in writing. I'm not sure how often this happens but we are quite disillusioned. I email'd the CEO of Cruise Compete who was cordial but didnt offer to intercede. Beware- the customer isnt always right even if you have something in writing.

I have been getting the exact same quote for a Royal Caribbean cruise no matter who I call. All the agents tell me that they cannot discount RCI.

One agency would also give us free prepaid gratuities for one of the cabins. The good news is I also found another who will give me free prepaid gratuities for both cabins. Has anyone ever gone this route? How do you know the agency will follow through and actually give the gratuities?

I also just followed the advice here to see if I can get a better deal through cruisecompete.com .

Has anyone ever received an actual discount on the published RCI prices?
