Cruise Around the Horn - clothing

Hello, I am sailing Around the Horn - Buenos Aires to Santiago di Chile. I understand that part of the cruise it'll be cold outside, we are bringing warm clothe for the outdoor. How to dress when on the boat? Short sleeve light dresses for dinner? or something with long sleeves? I understand it'll be warm inside but can't picture the cloth. Any advice?

You don't say what type of climate environment you are use to living in so it's difficult to tell what type of indoor temperatures you'll be comfortable in and what type of indoor clothing you are use to wearing. Suffice to say, for most people the interior temperature of the ship will be "comfortable" - so some people will be fine wearing outfits with short sleeves while others will prefer long sleeves. Most people will wear both and/or if wearing something with short sleeves will bring along a light sweater or cover-up for those instances when they feel a "slight chill".

Assuming you live in a temperate area that has the usual "Four Season" changes in temperature you'll probably be most comfortable wearing the same type of clothing you do in Spring or Fall.

Hope this helps.

thank you RoamsAround. I am from NYC, so Four Season climate. I was wondering about the cloth people wear inside for dinners, etc.

What ever 'cloth' you would wear at home for dinner. Not quite sure what you are asking though. Are you asking how fancy/dressy you should dress? But if you really do mean what type of cloth. Any. Cotton, synthetics, silk, light wool, knits, wovens - whatever.

If asking about the “dress code” your cruise line has for dinner you’ll find that information clearly spelled out in the packet you receive from them prior to your sailing. On most ships the “dinner” dress code varies depending on the venue you are dining at on any particular evening. In general women can’t go wrong with simple dresses, skirts and blouses or pants and blouses.

What cruise line? Did you check the cruise line website for dress code information? This info is usually listed.
