Crown Princess "Tsunami"
Steering problems aboard Crown Princess 7/18/06
After 8 relatives and I safely deboarded the Crown Princess on 7/19/06, I was happy to be able to post this blog which included pictures I took. http://cruisesplusdeals.com/2006/07/...n-tsunami.aspx |
YIKES!!!! Thank God you're OK, that does look scary. Thanks for sharing your experience and pictures with us. I hope your next vacation is a better one.
I know this is very soon after a traumatic incident, but I must ask. Do you think you will you ever cruise again? There's no right or wrong answer to that, but I am curious. I was in a jet fire 2 years ago and flying again was extremely difficult. But I'm glad I did, it was an important part of my healing process. Of course, you must do what you believe is best for your situation. |
Parents looking for their children must of been a horrible cry...Were the crew prepared and did they act in an appropriate manner? Has anybody heard how the two critically injured passengers, especially the little girl are? Would I cruise again....yes.. on this ship..no
|
Wow, Sam, that is very frightening. Glad you're ok.
I wouldn't set foot on a Princess ship - wasn't that a Pricess ship that had that fire recently? Is anyone awake on that line? I hope you plan to cruise again. Good luck. Read in the paper today that a group of travelers have retained a high power NY attorney for a class action lawsuit. |
Thanks for all of the pleasant wishes. Certain people aboard were pretty traumatized. My wife has dreamed about fishing her parents (85 yr. old) from between deck chairs at the pool. If she hadn't gotten there in time, they surely would have suffered more than bruises. I saw other people (adults and children)crying hysterically well after the event. I haven't heard about the fate of the hospitalized other than their injuries were not fatal. As for getting on another cruise ship, it's sort of a sticky situation. We own a cruise agency and my wife has been on over 100 cruises. She actually expressed the following, "I don't know how I'll be able to sell cruises now."

I sell travel as well and have been on over 100 cruises. I have also flown for many, many years and have millions of air miles flown.
I still love to travel and fly despite the rare air disasters. I will continue to cruise despite this event and despite some personal experiences with scary cruises. I would also cruise with Princess and will be on Crown later this year for a business event. The fire aboard Star was started by a cigarette and I have personally experienced the damage an inconsiderate smoker can cause when a lit butt flew in my open car window and burned a hole in the back seat of my brand new vehicle which cost thousands to fix. |
