Cozumel
 

Wondering what is shopping like in Cozumel ? Can I buy prescription drugs there for less? Is there upscale shopping or just souvenirs shops? Thank you for your information.

Was there in Sept and last week. My suggestions/recommendations:

- saw pharmacies with signs touting drugs but at 67 lucky not to be on any meds, so just walked bye. Bring a list of what you take and what you pay and see if it's cheaper. I would think if you have insurance, your copay is low that it's cheaper to buy at home.

- outside US, drugs not regulated by FDA, so who knows what you are getting.

- appears to be thousands of jewelry stores, millions of souvenier shops. Only 2 shops I found, Los Cinco Soles and Mi Casa were upscale. Both at northern end of the town.

Forget to mention you might want to search "Cozumel" here in the forum.

I had to purchase some prescriptions in Cozumel (burst my eardrum diving) and didn't find them particularly inexpensive (although I'm Canadian so maybe that makes a difference).

The doctor I saw suggested I go to the Pharmacy at the Mega Store - a new, large supermarket.
