Hopefully you won't get sick while on vacation but be prepared. Get insurance. My wife became ill once while in India and by the time we reached Bangkok for what we thought would be fun week after attending a wedding turned into a hospital stay for her. She had a horrid GI bug poor thing. She recovered thank God and our travel insurance covered the bill 100% which was nearly 6k.

I am amazed how some people take a chance to save a relatively small amt. of $. You spend thousands for a trip but skip a few hundred more to get adequate coverage.

And besides medical insurance, you need evacuation/repatriation insurance. Don't skimp on either, even the healthiest person can have an accident.
