Cost of Drinks on Cruiseship

Since you cannot bring your own whiskey on board, what is the price for drinks at the bar on mid-priced ships? thanks

About the same as an decent bar. Often they ship will sell drink cards. They are handy and save about a buck a drink.

Since I don't buy drinks at bars I do not know what they cost.

If you don't buy at bars or restaurants then why buy on a ship. There are a number of varibles -- type of drink, brands, happy hour, etc. -- standard mixed drink range from $4 to $8.

Go to Cruisecritic.com There are lots of discussions about this on the Boards.

I find it varies widely depending on the cruiseline. I thought drinks were about the same on Princess as they are at a local hotel or restaurant on land. I thought NCL was quite a bit more expensive. I agree ---- check out the discussion at cruisecritic.com with folks who have actually been on that specific ship.

On RCCL to Mexico they advertized $5.95 special cocktails in the daily fliers.
