Comparing Costa and Celebrity
 

I am a frequent Celebrity cruiser but recently a friend asked me to go on a Costa cruise to the Caribbean. I have heard some negative things about Costa but want to keep an open mind.

Is there anyone out there who has traveled on both cruise lines who could do a quick comparison of the pros and cons? Apparently the itinerary is the southern Caribbean for a week on the cruise, then staying in the Dominican Republic for another week.

We have cruised Celebrity often.. and a dear friend who has cruised Celebrity, barge tours and Costa swears NEVER, EVER AGAIN... she would rather cruise NCL than ever get on a Costa ship again.. You will find many negative comments about Costa.. especially European cruises.. Oh yes.. I love the D.R...especially La Romana..

Oh yes.. we cruised the Celebrity Soltice in April, the Western Caribbean and it was delightful...check out my review..but for us...7days is not enough, but the ship is to die for and the service..

There is no comparison really. Celebrity is superiot to Costa by far.

Costa have a no tolerance policy if you complain about anything. By that I mean that if you do complain, they won't tolerate you.

Give them a wide berth and go with anyone else.

Not between Celebrity and Costa, but if your friend is looking for something less expensive (like Costa), but nicer, look at Princess. We did the Southern Caribbean last Spring with Caribbean Princess. It is a beautiful ship and prices were great.
