CIVITAVECCIA TO ROME AIRPORT
aRE TAXIS AVAILABLE AT THE DOCKS ?
|
yES THEY ARE.
|
It is more expensive, but a good value to get a car and driver/tour guide. It is really enjoyable to get some information about the city and a tour of the must-see sights along the way to the airport. I spend a little more, but I feel like I've really gotten to know more about the city by taking a private car and driver from the port to the airport or vice versa.
Best Regards, Julia |
A taxi would be very pricey as it's a 3 hr round trip to Rome. We walked the couple of blocks from the dock shuttle bus stop to the train station and a rail round trip to the central station in Rome was about 6 euros. At the Rome station, cabs are available for tours, as are city tour buses, and the Colosseum and many of the main attractions are only a couple of underground stops. We're stopping there on a cruise in April and will go the same route as it worked so well before. Enjoy!

Sorry, guess I spent more time reading the prior response to your posting than the heading on it!
A cab to the airport would be very expensive, but surely the easiest. It looks like pre-arranged shuttle companies charge about 160 euros for 1-2 persons. The train to Rome goes past the airport. I'd go that route. Good luck. |
Last year r/t transfer by HAL was $160 per person.

The most cost-effective way to do this transfer is by train, as people have explained above. But if you want to take a taxi, you can do that. However, to be safe, I'd go with a pre-organized transfer (either private or with your cruise line).
