Celebrity Summit Sailing from San Juan

My husband and I will be traveling the Celebrity Summit this December. It's going to be his first and I haven't been in one in eleven years. I've read that you can bring two bottles of wine on board, are we able to bring a corkscrew onboard? Also we've been thinking about the beverage package but I haven't found the drinks price list online to make a good decision. Any help on this matter will be appreciated. We are traveling on regular class. Thanks.

You can bring the wine onboard, but you have to pay a corkage fee if you bring the bottles to the dining room. But no cost if you drink it in your room. That policy is similar to Holland America's. You can definitely bring a corkscrew, but put it in your checked bag. I've had problems getting those through TSA security.

Most cocktails on Celebrity run around $9 to $12, higher for the molecular bar. Wines are generally under $10 per glass but can also be fairly expensive if you get better wines (I get tired of the by-the-glass wines and usually get bottles). I haven't sailed on this ship, so hopefully someone with more specific knowledge can help you with some particulars. The cocktail lists are often posted on Cruise Critic, so that's another source. These packages are a good deal if you are heavy drinkers, but otherwise probably not.

One thing I love on Celebrity ships is the wine bar that serves glasses in 3 sizes from auto dispensers, but these require a separate card, and I don't think they are included on the beverage packages.

I sailed on the Summit about two years ago, right after the refurbishment. Great ship. I'm not a wine drinker, though, so I didn't get the beverage package.

They will be happy to open the bottles for you tho as Doug said there is a corkage fee if you plan to drink it in the MDR. The bev package is ok if you like to drink. Otherwise it's a lot.
