Celebrity Solstice in July 17

We are traveling on the Celebrity Solstice in July 17, traveling with 11 and 15 year olds.
We will be staying in Rome two days before the cruise departs, what tours, private car, or self tours and area do you recommend to do in Messina Sicily, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini and Rhodes

Good beaches in the areas. In Capri we will be renting a boat to go around the island to visit the different grottos and go swimming, we did this two years ago and it was the best part of the trip.

I'm actually going on the Celebrity Equinox in Aug. Can you tell me a little about what you plan on doing in Capri. Sounds great.

For us this was the best part of out tour. We stayed at La Recidencia Hotel in Capri and saw a boat ride that they offered that goes around the island stopping at different Grottos including the Blue Grotto that you need to transfer to a smaller boat and pay 10EU per person. You can stop at any of the locations and go swimming. We stopped in a cove and just jumped in, we also swam across one of the grottos.

I still have not being able to contact the boat that we used but there are different companies that you can check out in the internet. I included some below Capri Time may be the one we use this time. You can see the options they have and the stops they make. The most is to go in the traditional Capri boat the Gozzo you can get up to 7 people. We split it with two other couples we meet in the tour and they were also ecstatic. We did the half day which is what we plan to do this time also to have time to go up to Capri. If you do it in the morning when you finish you can have lunch in one of the restaurants between the Marina and the funiculore station. In the top when walking around after the stores and past the The central Piazzetta going towards the hotels at the left there is a Gelato store that has the best gelato we had in Italy.

Hi, We will be on the Solstice too! we have 3 sons 20, 18 and 15 yr olds.
We will be travelling from the UK and are also planning to stay in Rome the day before 16th, - this is our first cruise with Celebrity, all the reports seem good. Seems to be some good advice re:Capri...

We are traveling on July 17th as well with our 18-year old son. Looking forward to this cruise - our very first - and traveling from New York! Will arrive in Rome on the 15th, taking a Rome tour with VaticanTours. I feel like there is still so much I don't know about cruising. Guess we're just along forthe ride!
