Celebrity or RCCL

I am trying to choose which line to book for a Mediterranean cruise in October of this year. Itinerary and pricing preferences have me leaning toward either the new Celebrity Millennium or RCCL's Legend of the Seas. Does anyone have any thought on this subject? Thanks.

Hi, I think I answered your previous post, but just to be on the safe side, go on Celebrity. We have been on both, twice, and Celebrity gives you more for the money. RCCL was fine, we did Sydney to Singapore on the Legend, the the food was just so-so, and it didn't have the element of class that the Celebrity ships have. Knowing that that are both owned by RCCL, I do not have as clue why the food is so varied, but it is. I think anyone would enjoy Celebrity more.

We have been on both cruise lines a number of times and feel that both are superior to other lines. However, my husband and I both prefer the Celebrity line. The food is unbelievably good and varied-even at buffet lunches- and the elegance is great. RCCL is a much more laid back feel. We prefer the elegance. Also, no annoying announcements over the PA system!

Celebrity, definitely. Been an avid cruiser for years and nothing compares to celebrity for food, service and elegance. Have always thought Celebrity is a good value.

Celebrity is definitely superior. Have been on both a number of times, and I would agree with all the above comments regarding food, service, and ambience.

Have been on both lines; Celebrity is definitely a step up in all areas.
Also, I will never sail on RCCL again as a matter of principle due to their repeated flagrant violations of dumping garbage and trash at sea. I believed them the first time when they claimed it was an accident. After that, they showed their contempt of rules of the sea by subsequent dumpings and received even larger fines because of their willful disregard and coverup attempts. That's my personal opinion.

We just got back from a 7 night cruise on Celebrity's Mercury. It was our second cruise, but first w/ Celebrity. It was outstanding in every respect. The ship was spotless, the food was every bit as good as I had heard. The entertainment was better than what I had originally read. The staff was always helpful and gracious and smiling. It seemed as if they really enjoy what they do. The only thing I had read before going and found it to be true was that the engines must be under the diningroom and when we left ports at dinner time there was quite a rumbling to be heard. It didn't last long, though.
You cannot go wrong with this cruise line.

Ditto... Celebrity all the way!!

I am a travel agent and I've booked myself on this cruise paying full rate if that's any indication as to how good this ship and itinerary look.

Royal Caribbean just purchased Celebrity about a year ago as their "upper class" line. It is definitely a notch or two above RCCL and Princess. Plus anytime you can get yourself on a brand new ship with a great itinerary, go for it! This ship looks gorgeous!

Bon Voyage!!

If you enjoy food AT ALL, always go with Celebrity. You won't be disappointed. The service is also better and Millennium is a newer ship.
