Celebrity is a step up I think. They told me that they target people who are 50+ and make $100 000 + per year. They are for fine dining and are very nice, and elegant. I have been on two of thier cruises as a travel agent on a seminar at sea, where they sponcer our cruise and tell us how to sell them. I would only sell these to my more well to do customers.

While my husband and I aren't yet 50, nor is our income over $100,000, we really love Celebrity, and we're awaiting our 9th Celebrity cruise. In our opinion, the ships themselves are magnificent, the cuisine is very good-to-outstanding, and the service is consistantly excellent.
To be fair to RCCL, we haven't tried that line, but we do echo the sentiment of "how nice the Celebrity line is".
I tried RCCL in December on the Monarch of the Seas. Beautiful ship but the rooms are so small compared to Celebrity. Food and entertainment were not on par either. We are going on the Galaxy this May out of Baltimore.
