Can anyone tell me if we will be allowed to carry on wine on the Majesty cruise to Bermuda.

Yes, you will!

You can also take any other alcohol you like if you pack it in your checked luggage.

FYI Carnival does not allow hard spirits but wine is OK.

We just sailed on the Sky last month and had one bottle of wine in our carry-on. I understood (from this site)that there was no problem bringing one bottle on to drink in our cabin but that any more would be confiscated and a corkage charge added. (This was a last minute thing, had a couple of days in Seattle and found a sale on this great brand of Chianti that we thought we'd have in our cabin).
Anyway, they took it and gave us a slip to give to our wine steward which is what we did.
It was still a great wine for a total of $14.99!

My first cruise was on Carnival for 4 days to the Bahamas about 12 years ago. I brought two bottles of wine in my carry-on, and before I boarded, going thru x-ray, the wine was confiscated, and I was told I could retrieve it at the end of the cruise.

I now have a nice 22" roller carry-on which carries about 10-12 bottles of bubble wrapped wine. I have had no problems carrying it on Celebrity, Princess, or Royal Caribbean.

I have paid between 8-12 dollars per bottle for corkage, but since it was my own home made, it beat the hell out of their $30 a bottle stuff. ((b))

Thanks to all the respondents. My take on this is that as long as we put the wine in our checked baggage we will be ok. I will let you know what happens, as we will be sailing this weekend

My husband and I will be cruising on Majesty in February and we were wondering the same question.

Will the airlines let you bring wine in your checked luggage?

This will be our first cruise, any other helpful hints would be great.

Carrying wine in checked baggage has never been a problem, only carry on luggage. ((b))

We bought wine and liquors in most ports this summer on the Brilliance of the Seas. We had no problem bring it aboard.

JJTT: Had a wonderful cruise.Beautiful weather in Bermuda. We were told that it was the first sunny week in a month. The busses were back on schedule and the causeway opened full time on the Thursday preceding our cruise,so we took the first total island tour since Fabian. Only Rte. 1 the shore road was not open(Smith's).

ediemay, thanks for your report. Glad to hear your trip was a success!! I hope we have sunny and warm days as well. It sounds like you can't bring wine into your cabin. If they find it in your suitcase do they take it?? On your last post you mentioned something being confiscated?

JJTT; Somehow my reply got messed up. We each brought two bottles of wine in checked bags. At security we were told we had "unidentifiable" items. They were confiscated and we were told we could get it back on sat. night or they would send it to the dining room,where we could pay a $10 corkage per bottle. We did that and it was fine. The sommeliers enjoyed tasting it too. It was good squishy. Did not do spa but it looked like they had some good treatments. Have fun!!!

I always carry mine on, but usually only 1-2 bottles. It has been found before, but I always tell them it is for a special occcasion(anniversary), and they are fine with it. May of there books say you can bring one to 2 bottles on for a special occasion. ( Once I had to show them this in print.), but I got on with my wine.

Just returned from cruise on Serenade of the Seas. This was our 3rd cruise (2nd with RC and 1 with Celebrity). On all occasions it seems they allow wine and beer and soft drinks to be brought on (even in hand luggage) - it just seems to be spirits they have trouble with. I brought a couple of bottles of Californian cabernet sauvignon as they are so much cheaper in the UK (£4/$6)but they did charge me $12 corkage (it was still a saving) - I wasn't charged this much in the past. I was told by the wine waiter on Celebrity a couple of years ago that if you had a bottle sent from your "travel agent" (nudge nudge wink wink) they would just charge corkage or if the wine was available on their wine list there would be no charge - no idea if this was accurate or still current policy.

Box wine (which has improved in quality greatly in the past few years) is also pretty convenient to pack in your checked luggage. It's lighter, doesn't break, stays fresh longer after opening, and gives you a lot more wine in a lot less space.

Seems to me bringing on wine in checked baggage is only a problem that exists on NCL. Or maybe only on the Norwegian Majesty. Who knows? Cruised on Royal Carribean several years ago and bought a few bottles of spirits in Barbados and had no problem carrying it on.

I never have a problem carrying any kind of liquor or wine because I do not carry it in the bottles they come in and I do not pack it in checked luggage. They tend to confiscate booze bottles in general.
