Carnival Visa Card

Hi Everyone!

I have the Carnival Visa Card. Does anyone else? Has anyone on the board ever tried to turn in your points?

For those of you who don't know about the card, I believe that you get 3 Carnival dollars per every $100 you charge.

I have tucked away over 1000 Carnival dollars and I am ready to spend!

I have the Carnival Visa card. I have used my points more than once. Just call MBNA and ask them to help you. Important to note, unless you have different rules on your card than I do on mine:
1) The maximum number of points you can redeem for a certificate is 800 points. This gets you an $800 discount certificate towards a cruise.
2) You can only use one discount certificate and one two-category upgrade certificate (150 points) per cruise booking.
3) Your points will start to expire after a certain number of months. Once you redeem the points, the certificate itself is good for one year from the date of issue.

So, if you plan on paying for (not necessarily going on) a cruise in the next year, get your 800-point discount certificate and your 150-point two-category upgrade now!

Also, Carnival treats both certificates like cash, so you can use them with all special offers and at any time you want. Whomever you book through (Carnival or travel agent) will call Carnival (instructions on the back of your certificate) and tell you where to send the certificate.

Have fun.
Hi Debbie,
I'll add some additional to your post.

You receive 4% ($4 per $100 spent) in Carnival Dollars.

There are THREE levels: 150 points or dollars gets you a two category upgrade. 500 points gets you $500 off your next cruise and 800 points gets you $800 off your next cruise.

For those of you who would like to get the card, call MBNA Bankcard.

Paul

The Carnival card is a good deal.
Points accumulate quickly and are not
difficult to use. You work through
MBNA services to request your points.
We are using an 800 and 150 certificates
on our next cruise in August.
Couple more things I neglected to add.

The card will only let you accumulate 500 points ($) per calendar year.

I too thought the points expire but I called and was told they do not. This was the old policy.

I have 2 Carnival MBNA Cards so when I get to $500 on one card I stop charging on it and switch to the other card. I sail Carnival twice a year.

You do get a free upgrade certificate when you appy. This does have an experiation date and you cannot use it for any category above "9."

Paul
