Carnival Victory Halloween cruise

We and 1 of our friends are driving to Miami this coming Monday. It's a 5 night cruise so we get to celebrate our wedding anniversary on Halloween Friday. Carnival Victory 10/27-11/01, out of Miami, a day at sea then Grand Turks then private island then Nassau and back to Miami. We got married on Halloween cruise on a Carnival ship that sailed out of Tampa.

Anybody else going on this cruise?

Typing this short report on my tablet from our balcony in middle of nowhere.
The drive to Miami was ok, boarding was painless.
We enjoyed the poolside departure party and had a buffet dinner and then we hit the casino. I put in $20 in a 0.25 slot machine and walked out with $275. So decided to splurge for the internet. $59 for 120 minutes. It,'s a beatiful morning. Today is a sea day which will give us a chance to chill out and just enjoy the day.

We're back.

Final thoughts about the cruise.

The ship is in good shape, the service was great, but the food was mediocre at best. We felt that buffet was better than the main dining room.

Grand Turks was a waste of time. Half Moon Cay, their own private island was very nice, I did not get off in Nassau but the girls liked it.

Overall all not a bad cruise but we all rated it about 6-7 out of 10.

Finally when we went to get our car we found out that one tire was flat. Only then our friend informed us that her 1 year old KIA, bought brand new, did not have a spare tire. It took us a while to figure out that the "spare tire" was just a tire fix kit. It's one of those foam filling deals which allows you to at the very least get home, but as we drove off the parking lot we found a KIA dealership just couple of blocks away. We pulled in and they did fix the leak with a patch.

I personally never heard of this new spare tire policy but was told by many that it is the way many new cars come these days. Strange.

We made it home ok. Miami-Sarasota, about 3.5 hour drive.
