We are sailing in February on the Carnival Spirit with to kids. Can anyone tell me what the ship is like for adults and kids - highlights/good/bad?

Thanks!!

Welcome back kfusto. How was your trip?

Larry, it was simply fabulous! We had great weather, a nice mix of art, history and food/wine and a great group of people. It is in the top 3 ever trips for me and that is saying a lot.

We just booked for next year and will be staying 3 weeks. Already planning for that one:)

Wow! I'm glad you had such a memorable time. Good weather, friends, food and wine. Pretty hard to beat that. :-)

I am thrilled you had a great trip, but I would like to hear some replies from this board about the Carnival Spirit.

Thanks

Jenniferm if you want info on the Spirit you need to go to cruisecritic as suggested previously. They have a far more active and carnival especially.

That is true. Its been 8 days and no replies so try cruisecritic which has tons of info.

We just did the Spirit along Mexico from San Diego and loved it.

We took our three adult children and spouses, and two grandchildren.

There is plenty of stuff for the kids to do as long as they are older than about two.

The ship has an adults only deck area and we had no problem getting away from the "little ones" when desired.

This was our 16th cruise and we have done most of the major lines and a few of the smaller ones.

The food on the Spirit was in the top three, ship was in the top five, and the crew in the top three.

We still like the smaller ships better (Oceania Insignia #1), but we took the kids for a major birthday party and the Spirit was the most cost effective.

This was our first Carnival cruise, but won't be the last.

I was on the spirit this summer in Alaska. Is there anything in particular you'd like to know?

I'm really curious about the size of the cabins. Is an 8A (Main Deck, stateroom with balcony) a decent size? Anyone know? I'm about to pick my first cruise and the Spirit's Alaska itinerary is exactly what I want. Thanks!
