Carnival Jubilee feedback
Hi all--just wanted to say a few things about the Jubilee that might interest people getting ready to go on it. I read almost every Internet review of this ship and Carnival in general, and boy was I scared about the trip. It was overwhelming to read all the negative comments, especially about the other passengers. I'm in my early 30s, an attorney, and not much into the "party" scene of drinking alot, etc., so after hearing descriptions like "trailer park people", "white trash", and "WWF" fans, I was a little concerned about what we had gotten ourselves into. I'm happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised about the cruise.

I'm not going to argue with other people's opinions. Obviously these folks were unhappy with their cruise. I'm not sure when they took their cruise, but I just got off yesterday, and wanted to report some good things about the trip, again, mostly to put people's minds at ease who have booked this trip.

First, the condition of the ship was very clean. There was nothing outlandish about the decor, and all areas were kept neat and tidy by the staff. I'm aware of the age of the ship, but I didn't think it showed its age at all.

Second, the people on board were overall very pleasant people, a good mix of singles, couples, families, and elderly. There were a few people who obviously liked to party hard, but other than that, it seemed most people were there to have a nice vacation and enjoy themselves without bothering other people. I would never categorize them as white trash or trailer park folks. Everyone was dressed nicely and behaved appropriately.

The food and entertainment were very good. The bistro dining is more casual than the dining room, but the food isn't too bad. And the dining staff bent over backwards to please people and make it a nice experience.
I will say that 1 of the "Vegas-style" shows was a little bit risque, but other than that, the entertainment was great. There was lots of variety in live music and dancing, and tons of activities for everyone's different tastes. Also, lots of choices of shore excursions.

Finally, embarking and disembarking went extremely smoothly and quickly. I had read about hours in lines, etc., and was worried about this. But they had everyone sit in different lounges, and then when your floor color was called out, everyone filed out calmly and orderly to get off the ship. It took 5-10 minutes once your color was called. Not bad at all!

Again, there are those who have had bad experiences with Carnival, and while I can't say anything about those trips, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed mine, that the Carnival staff did a great job, and that it seemed like they were working really hard to change whatever negative image they might have and provide everyone with an enjoyable cruise.

I hope this feedback helps those getting ready for their own cruise on the Jubilee. Have fun!
