Captain's Club?

Thanks to all of you, advising to book through cruisequick.com!!! I was able to get a deal on a better ship (Constellation instead of Norwegian Sky)and much better stateroom (with veranda) - my family and I are looking forward to the cruise. Now, my question: should I spend $35 for becoming a member of Captain's Club? Any particular benefits? Thank you in advance, my wise and experienced fellows!

Hi MaKa,

Captain's Club members do get upgrades on most ships. They also get better deals on some assorted sailings that are not the most popular. The priorty embarcation mean you stand in a "special" line which also has the suite passengers in it. I find it goes so much slower than the other lines that I move over.

Paul

I joined after my first Celebrity cruise.

It is a waste of money in my opinion. And it seems strange that all the other cruise lines allow you to join their club free and Celebrity charges. To this day, the only thing I have taken advantage of is priority embarkment. The upgrades never "work with what I am booking" and the other benefits seem very minimal.

I wish I would have saved my $35.
You also get to get in free at wine tastings. Two or three sailings, and it's paid for. There are discounts on future cruises.

We did join, and I think it will be worth it for us.

I joined the Captain's Club after our first cruise and I am very glad I did. We got a great deal on our last cruise because of it, with a one cateogry upgrade. We were able to get on the ship earlier and off the ship first. They had two cocktail parties with free drinks, discounts to the spa and casino. It was definitely worth the one time fee of $35.

It IS the only captain's club that charges ( on CELEBRITY only) but we did pay for it and it has paid off-

We get numerous discount coupons that they DO combine with other offers (even tho they say they don't) and the priorty boarding is worth the price alone.....

So, yes- do it!

You don't receive the benefit of the Captain's club until your second cruise. Then you will get specialized air and discount coupons for the casino. Also, preferential boarding.

Schach-- Better recheck the priority embarkation/debarkation. That might not happen until the 5th cruise.

I personally think the $35. is worth it---if you plan to continue to sail Celebrity often!!

Free wine tasting
Beach bags
Upgrades
coupons
spa/casino discounts
CC cocktail party
But my favorite is the priority boarding.
It's your call, MaKa!!
