cancel cruise

I have a 10-day Princess cruise scheduled over Christmas. The terrorist activities/war have made me feel like I should bail out now while there's still a chance for a refund. Yet, I've looked forward so long (it would be my first cruise) that I hate to! I'm looking for opinions. To me a cruise ship seems like a sitting duck . . .
Is not your office and your home a sitting duck? I for one am glad to hear so many people talking like this as an emptier ship and planes is a nice thought. I for one am taking advantage of the cheap fares and deals.

This my problem too. I have until this friday to make my final payment or get my deposit back for a 10 day Mexican Riviera cruise on HAL in mid-December. Each day I go thru questioning as to whether I should go or not. I feel the terrorists will want to hit somewhere alot of people are at the same time, so I wonder if a cruise ship isn't their next target. I have been on three before (one HAL and two NCL) and know the security wasn't too great on any of them. All you had to do was show your card to get back on the ship and they barely glanced at that. My travel agent tells me the security has been really increased now, but why wouldn't she want to reassure me so I would not cancel out???? And I wonder if I did decide to go, would I be able to truly enjoy it. Would I be constantly wondering in the back of my mind if something is going to happen. Certainly, traveling will never be as carefree as it used to be. May follow the saying "when in doubt, don't".

I lived through WW2. Our enemies' allies were fear and rumormongers. Go on your cruise and be thankful for the super security. Don't be scared. Do your own thing and be a fatalist. If Bin Laden has made you afraid, then he has won.
neviboy

I'm going on the Grand Princess in November, and I can't wait. In fact, I'll be precruising in Disney. I was considering doing one of their 10 days, but it was a little out of reach. Go and enjoy.
Mike

Any large office building or college or large city school or even shopping centers have more people in them during a day than does a cruise ship so don't let that be your decision maker. Surely we can't plan to avoid all the above as well as sporting events, amusement parks, etc.
