cabins
This is my first cruise and I have anxiety disorder in a medium severity. I would like to know which cabin I should get to be the most comfortable at an affordable price. We are sailing the majesty or soveirgn of the sea.

What are asking here? Are you claustrophobic? If so, I'd suggest that a cruise may not be the best vacation option for you as even large cabins tend do be somewhat closed-in. Otherwise, I'm not sure what can be done for anxiety disorder in terms of cabin selection. Please clarify and help us out.

I guess I just wanted to know whether it was worth paying the extra for a oceanview stateroom.

Go for an ocean view...to be in a room and not know whether it's day or night and the fact I worked in a windowless office for years..we never book an inside cabin..it just isnt worth it.. It's true your not in the cabin for long, but as long as I am in the cabin I want to be able to look out..
|
If the cruise is a scenic one, definitely choose a veranda room or at least a large windowed room...if the cruise is not scenic or close to land, go for a nice inside room on the deck where the larger staterooms are located.

I prefer interior cabins if the ship is relatively new. They are dark so you can sleep late!

If you have anxiety disorder it could be manifested in a number of ways. If you're anxious due to closed in spaces like claustrophobia, go for a cabin with at least a window (large window like on Celebrity). Even better, get a balconey. On the other hand if you're also affected by heights, don't get the bacloney but stick with the outside cabin with a window!

I agree with Dr.X and can only give you my experience. I don't like closed in spaces so we save money a little longer till we could afford a balcony. This turned out wonderful as we could drink coffee and enjoy the view early in am, enjoy a break with fresh air in afternoon when resting in cabin and could enjoy wonderful sunsets at night in privacy. Enjoy your trip!
