Cabin Selection
I am considering staying in a balcony room on the Dawn Princess (Alaska cruise/shore side) on the Riviera (pool) deck. Any pros or cons/opinions?

That will be right under the Horizon Court buffet (24 hours). Could be some unwelcome noise at unwelcome hours.

The Caribe (think that is the name) is by far the best deck. Stayed there on Ocean Princess (like Dawn) and loved it!

We were upgraded to a cabin on the Riviera deck on a Caribbean cruise and were happy. The entire floor is not cabins, so it is more quiet. We went to someone else's cabin that was on a lower deck (one with all cabins) and the noise was incredible! Although it is under the Horizon court, there was only one night that we could hear them moving chairs. Enjoy!

Been there done that trip on Dawn last 05/11/01, loved it, best outside cabin should allow you to see the glaciers, if going North bound you want Star Ship side & vice & versa for the South bound. We where on the Caribe deck, cat BB, room A625, great view from balcony. Be prepare, the bathroom are 3 feet x 6 feet including sink commode & shower, that's our only negative, trhe bathroom are way to small, but everything else was "SUPER". Danielle

We have sailed twoce on Dawn Princess. First cruise had a balcony cabin on Caribe deck(taking a shower in the bathroom is a challenge. This cruise we went with a mini-suite on the Baja deck. So much more room with a great bathroom. The marble shower was great and it also had a whirlpool tub. The extra room and double balcony are well worth the extra cost. We booked early and so we had an extra discount.
